ibx - colour & text sub-window

blue bar

This window displays controls to change the colour scale used to display the image in the main window, perform smoothing on the displayed image (but not any saved Windows bitmaps), and add text to the images for when they are saved as Windows bitmaps.

Colour scale
This option selects the colour scale to be used to display the image. Click still in the main window to update the image in the new colour scale. The grey, hot iron, and perfusion colour scales are adjusted using the usual display window centre and display window width sliders in the main window. The split grey/red colour scale is adjusted using the activated grey and red sliders in this window.
Gaussian smooth
Performs 3x3 Gaussian smoothing on the displayed image. This does not affect any Windows bitmaps saved subsequently. Click still in the main window to reload the original non-smoothed image.
Intensity bar?
If set to yes then a vertical intensity bar will be added to subsequently saved Windows bitmaps on the right-hand side. If the Text on BMPs? option, below, is also set to yes then the maximum and minimum intensity values are also printed next to the intensity bar. Note that these maximum and minimum values may not contain many digits before extending outside the image and being cut off, floating point values are not displayed fully, and intensity scaling factors are not taken into account. Also there may not be room to display the bar correctly on small images (i.e., 64x64 or smaller).
Text on BMPs?
When set to yes then some text will be 'burned' into the images when saved as BMPs. What text is displayed is controlled by the following buttons which allow certain items from the Analyze header to be written onto the BMPs in pre-defined locations. The final options allows the user to enter some free text on the BMP text line which will be displayed at the bottom of the BMP.
It is not normally possible to preview the text on the screen that will be written on the BMP. However, ibx may be tricked into displayed the text or colour bar depending on the X Windows configuration. To try this, first save the images as BMPs (save as .bmp in the main window), then force a refresh of the images without reloading them, by either minimizing then maximizing the main window, or by covering and then uncovering the images with another window.
Background of text on BMPs
Allows selection of whether the pixels immediately surrounding the text written onto the BMPs are set to black or retain their original intensity values (transparent).
Font size
Limited selection of the font size, in pixels, of text written on BMPs.
